Wager Matches
I think we should have wager matches on Uberstrike. In these games, you could wager a minimum of 10 points or credits and a maximum of 500 points or credits. If you are on the winning team, you get whatever you wagered back, PLUS the other teams wagers divided among your team. So what do you guys think??

Haha. I like the double post. Stupid internet.
I think you raised some key points that I agree will have to be thought out. I am beginning to lean fully towards the idea of points only. This way, it prevents gambling complaints.
And I don't really understand your playspan point, but if we restricted it to Points (no RL value) only, then we wouldn't have the problem.
And if someones parents objected to it, then you dont have to do it. Noone will be forcing you to use the new game mode. Its just an option.

Hrm, some comments here.
The idea isn't terrible, but it isn't something that I'm totally in love with.Cons:
1. Whatever you say and no matter how fun it may be, it is essentially gambling. If you were gambling for points, that isn't so bad, but when credits - real money - is involved, although kids would have fun with it, parents wouldn't like to waste their $20 on a game that their kid lost because he DC'd 20 seconds before the end of the game.
2. People can abuse this to gain unlimited points/credits. When you join UltimatePoints, Swagbucks and such, you get a certain number of free online cash for joining - and this can be used to gain small amounts of credits ingame. At the time this is not an issue because the amount of credits that are there are miniscule, but if wagering was included people could simply play their many many secondary accounts to gain enough credits to buy, say, their entire loadout permanently.
3. Hackers. 'Nuff said.
Pros:
1. Would add more competition to the gaming itself - there's always more enthusiasm for when you're actually going to get something from the game.
2. Would be a great way to add 'prizes' to player-held tournaments, because without this it is rather hard to gift people things aside from CMUNE tourneys.
Is this a bad idea? No, not at all. But I don't particularly think that it's worth the hassles and problems that it could create.

Okay this is awesome. This provides experienced players that want creds but are not allowed to buy them an opportunity to get them while still having a fun game so they dont have to do offers. Love the Idea.

How would someone get banned??
Its just a friendly debate over a subject most agree on.

Gold Wing commented
I would argue, but it'll result in someone getting banned.

If this possible addition teaches you to gamble, then you should stop playing this game. Because if you can argue that, then you can argue that this games encourages violence. Since neither are true, there is no problem.

thebird123 commented
It doesn't teach you to gamble. It is just a simple addition to the game to make it more fun.

Its so really gambling as it is with points with 0 RL value. All value is in-game.
@Gold Wing: If your not good enough, then don't wager.
@Markusv: If this is such a good idea why won't you give it a couple votes?
