Would be nice, especially for new chats in the private chat corner. You can't exactly press escape and check the lobby chat every 20 seconds ingame, and you can't see the big flashing "NEW!" unless you're paused. So +1. =P

I respect your idea, and the whole gender equality thing (Although I know a LOT of female players who aren't really too fussed over it), but nutshots or some sort of damage increase is going to have to stay.

Being female shouldn't give you an advantage over male players. After all, you're in support of 'equality'.

Apart from that, and the huge amount of recoding and work required to create a female avatar and then be able to equip all regular items with the female avatar, I wouldn't mind seeing this happen. I have a great deal of respect for female players, but the amount of effort required to create this now, after the game has progressed to where it is, isn't small.

Credits are essentially an online currency from real money.
When you level up, it would be great to get extra points to buy those new level unlocked weapons. But does it make sense for CMUNE to be handing you money for it?

In the end credits can only be accumulated by something that gives CMUNE money, or they would be pointless. Getting credits for something like leveling up, especially as much as 1000, just isn't going to happen IMO.

    Free points? Sure.
    Free credits? Defeats the purpose.

    Hrm, some comments here.
The idea isn't terrible, but it isn't something that I'm totally in love with.

    Cons:

    1. Whatever you say and no matter how fun it may be, it is essentially gambling. If you were gambling for points, that isn't so bad, but when credits - real money - is involved, although kids would have fun with it, parents wouldn't like to waste their $20 on a game that their kid lost because he DC'd 20 seconds before the end of the game.

    2. People can abuse this to gain unlimited points/credits. When you join UltimatePoints, Swagbucks and such, you get a certain number of free online cash for joining - and this can be used to gain small amounts of credits ingame. At the time this is not an issue because the amount of credits that are there are miniscule, but if wagering was included people could simply play their many many secondary accounts to gain enough credits to buy, say, their entire loadout permanently.

    3. Hackers. 'Nuff said.

    Pros:

    1. Would add more competition to the gaming itself - there's always more enthusiasm for when you're actually going to get something from the game.

    2. Would be a great way to add 'prizes' to player-held tournaments, because without this it is rather hard to gift people things aside from CMUNE tourneys.

Is this a bad idea? No, not at all. But I don't particularly think that it's worth the hassles and problems that it could create.

    Yes, PLEASE!

Every time the communicator goes down, so many messages get flooded through that system, meaning that it's practically impossible to keep it organised.

If it doesn't have any sort of organising functions and delete function, apart from the fact that it still works when the Chat Servers are down, it's practically useless anyway.

I agree with General and Ferni, if it were a Quick Item it would be fantastic an idea. As for it being too easy to grapple another player and kill them with melee, the grapple would have a long reload time and would not do any damage, as well as expiring as soon as the enemy reached you after grappling them, meaning that they could easily strafe away or melee you themselves if you grapple them.

    This is likely lag.
As Simon said, walls can never be shot through in UberStrike, aside from one, which I promise will never cause you any problems of this sort.

Sometimes lag and bad sync can cause other people to see you at a different location to where you think you are, or in fact they see you as where you were a second ago. Or you're recieving damage 1 second after they actually shot you when you were out in the open. Thus cover wouldn't really work out if lag was there already.

Facepalm @ the comments so far xD

It would be great to see a Just for Fun mode again, and personally I'd love for it to happen, although I do think CMUNE might already be working on it... although the mutators are no longer available on the game menu when it appears, so this may be a long way away yet.

Liking the idea. It would make things a lot easier and hopefully reduce the number of no shows, especially with half of the tournament's participants always miscalculating the timezone conversions >_<

Even something as simple as an ingame noticeboard for the clan that the officers and owner can edit would be simple and very handy.

    You're the k-9?! I never would've guessed. O________O

2000 hp is a bit much, even for a melee creature... and personally I think adding a zombie mode to UberStrike would not only be further copying of other video games, but also just boring after a while. All you really would have to do is strafe away and keep dropping GL Grenades, after all. Your idea of an infection style gameplay is alright, but again, it's not original.

@Your Comment - "Go to this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlXLut2mcwk and bettercopy almost all of it" - That just proves how unoriginal it would be to add something of this kind... =/

    I can't say I agree with this.
I like the idea of prone, but is it really neccessary in UberStrike? After all, crouching does enough as far as hiding against objects, and it does it well.

Sprinting would be totally useless if strafe jumping, arcing and angled RJs still existed, particularly strafe jumping, but if they were removed then sure, would be nice.

    No votes for now.

    Hmm.
I can't say this is really necessary. Although I'd love a team chat, if you actually have missed an important message and you have enough time to scroll up an ingame HUD chatbox, you could just do that with the 'GAME' chatbox in the menu chat, which can be accessed when you're dead or paused.

As for team chat, I think it'd be nice if you could bind a control to team chat and/or clan chat, which would be displayed in a different colours respectively on the speech bubble chat. If we did get a HUD Chat, it would be much more convinient, yes, but it makes the HUD look a little cluttered.

+1 for the Team Chat, and also being able to choose between bubble chat and HUD chat ("Varying styles of chat")

    Hmm.
This idea interests me quite a bit. I like the concept, and love how you commented on your own idea xD

But it's interesting and I'd like to see it... although it's unlikely that this will be implemented into the game itself, maybe it could be a player-made tournament? Try posting on the UberStrike forums, it's quite possible.

The only thing is that getting ingame points from these would make the game take a completely different aim altogether, and although it would be very interesting, it would be a massive change in gameplay and would make clans the focus of the entire game.

Anyhow, love the idea. If you make a game that has this as it's focus, tell me =P.

Why would they do it, though? =/
Why would you bother having a concept of 'credits' if you could just turn points into them? It would be a waste of time for CMUNE, and it would mean that there's no point paying for items if you can just get them through point conversions.

Now, turning credits into points, on the other hand...

+1. All of the other servers in UbZLand are kinda hard for us Aussies to play in...

Although this isn't so much a top priority project as some of the other things on these forums.

EDIT: Note that Lerpz would look bad, seeing as CMUNE didn't actually make those, they're a Unity doll.

Infection mode, which was sort of what the OP meant, would be great. Zombie mode, which is what most of you are seeing this as meaning, is very, very different.

    Shadowhand commented  ·

    =/ hmm
Personally, I don't like the idea of zombie mode too much, especially if it uses real zombies.

Keep in mind that this game is for young audiences, so if a zombie mode is released the zombies can't be realistic or scary, which is pretty much the best element of a zombie mode in a game such as, lets say, CoD.

While I would welcome a mode that uses PLAYERS as zombies (Players can respawn, jump higher, have more damage but lower rate of fire), as this would ensure that it's still player vs player, I don't think it would be all that fun to have players vs zombies. Eventually, all of you will be able to kill every level of the zombie horde. What happens when that comes? Unlike TvT, Deathmatch and Elim, which are our current game modes, Zombie Mode becomes a novelty quickly and isn't really all that fun after a while. If the robots in training can shoot and move, fine. If we can have a PvP Zombie Mode, fine. But your standard Call Of Duty style Zombie Assault just doesn't suit UberStrike.

There's also the fact that it'd be good to keep the game as original as possible (Despite it currently being similar to another game online), so that it attracts more audiences and looks a whole lot more attractive than games we copy.

That's just my 28484 cents, though.

    Cheese,
    S
